Uber is affordable here so you can stay in the French Quarter and get back and forth to the event grounds each night with little difficulty. If you can go ahead and splurge on the VIP tickets. The skip the line, and VIP viewing area are worth it, but not quite as much as the VIP washrooms with much shorter lines.
  3. If you are interested in the history of Voodoo, there is no better time to go to New Orleans. First take a Voodoo walking tour to learn about the history of Voodoo, and some of the key historical people and shops. Of course, New Orleans is no different, but the houses used here actually have a history of hauntings. It will add that little bit extra scare to any thrill seeker.
  5. This city has many cemeteries all with a rich history. There are tours to several of the most interesting ones. You can focus on the cemetery where Marie Laveau was buried and learn why people come and deface the tomb with x’s. You can visit Nicholas Cages plot. They will teach you about which plots are the most haunted, which have the most tragic stories of their deaths, and why they are built the way they are. There is no better time to visit a cemetery then around Halloween.
  6. Frenchmen street is an absolute gem. There is fantastic live music going on any night. Jazz bars all up and down the street, and you can bar hop easily. Bourbon St is where you go crazy and party overboard, you can do the same on Frenchmen St, but it’s just as easy to chill to some amazing music. The restaurants are open very late here so no need to worry about going back to your New Orleans hotel hungry.
  7. Everyone should check out Preservation hall at least once. The tickets are really affordable, the show is about an hour long starting every hour from 5:00pm till 10:00pm. They serve great drinks you can enjoy while listening to a fantastic Jazz band. They play a few songs they want to play, but also take requests. They’ll play any jazz classics but will also play your favorite modern song in a jazz style. It’s an intimate ticketed event, with not too many people, a scattering of antique seating, and just has a really cool vibe.

New Orleans is an amazing city to party in, but it has so much more. You can do ghost, voodoo, cemetery tours, check out the plantations, and go on a swamp tour.
