"I thought it was a joke," said one Clemson player.
To celebrate their NCAA National Football Championship, the Clemson Tigers ate like burger kings at the White House last night.
Donald Trump, who the Chicago Tribune reports paid for the meal out of his out pocket because of the government shutdown, set up a spread of McDonald's Quarter Pounders, Big Macs, Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, Chicken McNuggets, french fries, and even boxes of Domino's pizzas, complete with gravy boats filled with packaged sauces.
"I like it all. I like it all. It’s all good stuff, great American food. And it’s going to be very interesting to see at the end of this evening how many are left," said Trump.
In a now-viral video on Twitter, one Clemson athlete can be heard saying, "I thought it was a joke."
Twitter had an absolute field day with the scene:

Not all the athletes were laughing though. Matt Bockhorst, a Clemson player photographed at the feast mid food grab, had to remind the internet who exactly he was.
