Exclusive Listen: How Adam Joseph Managed To Craft His Latest Bitch Track "Opulence", A Now Viral "RuPaul's Drag Race" Moment

 

The moment Mercdes Iman Diamond fluttered across that green screen saying the "Opulence...you earn...everything" we knew that it would most likely be taking on a life of it's own. The phrase, originally inspired by a line in the legendary documentary film Paris Is Burning was uttered as part of a team challenge on Episode 2 during an acting challenge, and from memes to video clips to gif's, the moment went completely viral. 

Much like his endless infectious track "Linda Evangelista" from Season Nine (after Aja's infamous read to Valentina during Untucked that season) Joseph has the keen ability to zero in on one moment that has captured the public's attention and craft a track worthy of hitting the dance floor to.  In a true stroke of genius, Joseph's merges Diamond's vocals from her Drag Race acting challenge with the vocals from the original Paris Is Burning quote, giving the track a true dash of street cred. 

Much like we heard his "Linda Evangelista" track on a number of dance floors as the season eased into outside dancing weather, I have a sneaking suspicion that we will be getting an extra dash of "Opulence" on the dance floors this summer, truly making us feel like we..own...everything!...
