Barbra Streisand’s Hot Take on “Leaving Neverland”: “You Can Say ‘Molested’, but Those Children… Were Thrilled to Be There”

During a recent conversation with The Times of London, Barbra Streisand was asked about her thoughts on the recent Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland. While she says she “absolutely” believes Wade Robson and James Safechuck‘s claims, she directs a share of the “blame” towards the boys’ families, saying:

“I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him.”

That’s in reference to the fact that both mothers willingly left kids their without supervision at the singer’s Neverland resort. Specifically: Wade’s mother, Joy, moved her family to California in order to allow her son to be closer to the Jackson, while James’ mother, Stephanie, also considered him to be an extended member of her family, and permitted him to share a bed with her son.

So, a valid point, I suppose.

She then went to to describe the Michael she knew as “very sweet, very childlike,” and says that

“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has.”

Ooooooooookay.

She added:

“You can say ‘molested’, but those children, as you heard say [in reference to grown-up James and Wade], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”

The Hollywood icon was then asked if she felt any anger towards Michael in light of the documentary.

Barbra responded: “It’s a combination of feelings. I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him.”

Hmmm. Well. Maybe we didn’t reeeeeaaally need Barbra Streisand’s take on this after all.

Moving on.
