Las Vegas is home to world-class entertainment, dazzling nightlife, and a vibrant LGBTQ+ community. However, access to high-quality, inclusive healthcare—especially dentistry—has often been an overlooked aspect of community well-being. Enter PARCS Dentistry, a newly launched, LGBTQ-owned and operated dental practice dedicated to redefining patient care. Founded by Dr. Justin Nguyen, Derek Winn, and Dr. Yun B. Kim, PARCS Dentistry is more than just another dental office—it is a welcoming space where patients are treated like people, not numbers.

“We started this practice because we wanted to change the way dentistry is done,” says Derek Winn, one of PARCS Dentistry’s founders. “Too often, patients are treated like a dollar sign instead of a person with real healthcare needs. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, respected, and comfortable while receiving the highest level of dental care.”

A Mission Rooted in Care and Community

Derek and Dr. Justin Nguyen bring over 15 years of combined experience in the dental industry, having worked in corporate-driven dental organizations where financial incentives often took precedence over patient care. This experience led them to establish PARCS Dentistry with a new vision: a comprehensive, patient-first approach where healthcare is accessible, compassionate, and tailored to the individual.

“We believe that dental care is not a privilege—it’s a right,” Derek explains. “That’s why we are committed to making it accessible to everyone, regardless of income level, background, or insurance status. We want to break down the barriers that prevent people from getting the care they deserve.”

Comprehensive Dental Care Under One Roof

Unlike many practices that refer patients to specialists across multiple locations, PARCS Dentistry offers a full spectrum of services in-house. From general and emergency dentistry to orthodontics, oral surgery, and full-mouth restorations, the clinic provides comprehensive care in one location, eliminating long wait times and the stress of navigating multiple appointments.

“It’s frustrating when you’re told you need a specialist and then have to wait weeks for an appointment,” Derek says. “At PARCS Dentistry, our patients receive seamless, coordinated care from a team of highly skilled professionals, ensuring their treatment is efficient and stress-free.”

The clinic’s state-of-the-art technology also sets it apart. Instead of standard 2D panoramic imaging, PARCS Dentistry uses 3D CBCT imaging, which provides a detailed, high-resolution view of airways, bone structures, and teeth. This allows the team to diagnose issues more accurately, from sleep apnea to complex oral health conditions, ensuring better treatment outcomes for every patient.

A Safe and Affirming Space for the LGBTQ+ Community

One of PARCS Dentistry’s core missions is to serve the LGBTQ+ community by providing an environment where patients feel comfortable and respected.

“I’m a gay man, and I know firsthand how important it is to have a safe space for healthcare,” Derek shares. “Our entire staff is either LGBTQ+ or strong allies. We want our patients to feel at home here, to know they are in a place where their identity is understood and respected.”

To further this commitment, PARCS Dentistry has implemented gender-inclusive policies, including gender-neutral restrooms and pronoun sensitivity training for all staff members. Additionally, they partnered with an outside organization to provide LGBTQ+ inclusivity training, ensuring all team members understand how to create a respectful and affirming environment for gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and transgender patients.

“Just because we’re LGBTQ-owned doesn’t mean we assume we know everything,” Derek emphasizes. “We brought in professionals to ensure our staff is properly trained on inclusivity, pronoun respect, and cultural competency so that every patient feels seen and valued.”

The Art and Science of Design: A Healing Environment

Beyond its patient-focused philosophy, PARCS Dentistry’s physical space is also designed with intentionality. Taking inspiration from Asian principles of Feng Shui, Dr. Kim, who is of Korean descent, helped create a serene and welcoming atmosphere.

Each of the five treatment rooms is themed after the five elements of Chinese culture—Earth, Wood, Stone, Water, and Fire—and designed to evoke a sense of balance and calm. “We wanted our space to feel different from the typical sterile, impersonal dental office,” Derek says. “We put thought into every detail, from the color palettes to the ambiance, to make sure our patients feel at ease.”

One of the standout features of the practice is its cutting-edge sedation suite, which is currently under development. “We partnered with the same team that designed the Fremont Street Experience LED canopy to create an immersive, full-room LED experience for our sedation suite,” Derek reveals. “As patients are sedated, they’ll see a daytime sky that gradually fades into night, creating a soothing, seamless transition into sleep. And during surgery, the room can be illuminated with pure white light, reducing shadows and enhancing surgical precision.”

Partnering with the Community

PARCS Dentistry is not just a business—it’s a community partner. They have already begun collaborating with LGBTQ+ organizations and local businesses, including Lambda Business Association and The Cupcake Girls, a nonprofit supporting individuals affected by sex trafficking and domestic violence, while also advocating for the rights and safety of sex workers.

“The Cupcake Girls’ mission really resonated with us,” Derek says. “They help people rebuild their lives by offering healthcare, mental health services, and professional development. We’re honored to provide free or low-cost dental care for their clients and help those who might otherwise not have access to treatment.”

Additionally, PARCS Dentistry is actively working toward launching its own foundation, which will provide pro bono and low-cost dental care for individuals facing financial hardship.

“We take patients on a case-by-case basis,” Derek explains. “If someone is unhoused, unemployed, or struggling financially, we will work with them to ensure they get the care they need. No one should have to suffer because they can’t afford a trip to the dentist.”

A Bright Future: Growth and Expansion

As PARCS Dentistry continues to establish itself in Las Vegas, the founders have big plans for the future. Their 10-year goal is to open 10 additional locations across the Las Vegas Valley, making inclusive, high-quality dental care more accessible to even more people.

But beyond expansion, their ultimate goal remains simple:

“We want every patient to feel like they belong here,” Derek says. “No matter your background, your identity, or your financial situation, PARCS Dentistry is here for you.”

Getting Started with PARCS Dentistry

For those interested in becoming a patient, the process is simple and accessible. While the clinic is still finalizing its insurance credentialing (expected to be fully in-network within 90 days), they are currently accepting out-of-network benefits and offering a new patient special for just $149, which includes a comprehensive exam, X-rays, and a free Oral-B electric toothbrush.

And if you’re out and about in the community, you might just run into the PARCS Dentistry team at Gipsy Nightclub’s Thursday karaoke nights or Piranha Nightclub on the weekends—always ready to chat about their mission and spread the word about inclusive dental care in Las Vegas.

Because at PARCS Dentistry, it’s not just about smiles—it’s about people.
