The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas has named Wynn Resorts its 2026 Organization of the Year, honoring a partnership The Center says helped carry it through years of rapid growth, and one that has strengthened not just The Center but the nonprofit sector across Southern Nevada.

For nearly a decade, Wynn has been one of The Center’s most consistent champions. The Center says the company stood alongside it through a period of tremendous growth and transformation, investing in its mission and helping it become the thriving organization it is today, one that serves the LGBTQ+ community through community building, advocacy, and comprehensive health and wellness services.

“We are incredibly grateful to be recognized as Organization of the Year,” said Monica Moradkhan, Vice President of Community Relations at Wynn Las Vegas. “This honor reflects the commitment of our employees and community partners who continue to show up for Southern Nevada in meaningful ways.”

More Than a Check

What sets the partnership apart, according to The Center, is that Wynn’s support has never been purely financial.

The company’s approach to community investment combines charitable grants with employee volunteerism and a set of programs designed to strengthen nonprofits and the people who lead them. Those include Wynn’s annual Nonprofit Leadership Retreat and its Nonprofit Leadership Fellows program, along with other opportunities aimed at helping organizations succeed over the long term.

The Center says it has benefited directly from that investment. Beyond resources, its participation brought knowledge, relationships, leadership development, and greater business acumen, all of which The Center credits with contributing to its growth and sustainability.

That model matches how Wynn describes its own community strategy: building partnerships with nonprofit organizations and investing both financial resources and the talents of its employees to strengthen the communities where it operates. Wynn team members contribute thousands of volunteer hours to nonprofits, and the company backs programs focused on creating meaningful, lasting impact. The Center says it has experienced that commitment firsthand.

A Partner Who Pushed

At the heart of the relationship is Moradkhan herself.

The Center describes her leadership, counsel, and belief in the organization as invaluable, and says she has been much more than a community partner. She took the time to understand The Center, its opportunities, and the community it serves, according to the organization, while challenging and encouraging its leadership to think bigger, both about its impact and about the organizational strength required to sustain it.

That combination of support and challenge, The Center says, helped it expand its reach while continuing to mature as an organization.

Moradkhan, for her part, pointed the credit back toward the community.

“Giving back to the community we call home has always been an important part of who we are at Wynn,” she said, “and we are proud to stand alongside organizations like The LGBTQIA+ Center that create connection, provide meaningful resources, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve.”

Built Over Time

In announcing the award, The Center made the case that the partnerships that matter most can’t be measured in a single transaction.

“The strongest community partnerships are not defined by a single grant, event, or moment of generosity,” The Center said. “They are built over time through trust, shared purpose, and a genuine investment in one another’s success. That is the partnership Wynn Resorts has created with The Center.”

Looking back on the past eight years, The Center said Wynn is woven into its story. The company’s generosity, volunteerism, leadership development, counsel, and steadfast belief in the mission, it said, have left The Center better equipped to serve the tens of thousands of people who turn to it for connection, advocacy, care, and community.

Why It Matters

Corporate support for LGBTQ+ causes is often measured in June sponsorships and logo placements. The relationship The Center describes is something different: year-round investment not only in programs, but in the people and systems that keep a community institution standing. Grants keep services running. Leadership training, volunteer hours, and hands-on counsel help an organization build the capacity to keep running them, and to grow when the community needs more.

For the tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ Southern Nevadans who rely on The Center, that kind of capacity is the difference between an organization that survives and one that can plan for the future.

The Center closed its announcement with special gratitude to Moradkhan and the entire Wynn team, saying they have shown what it means to be a true community partner: one that doesn’t simply support organizations doing important work, but helps them become stronger so their impact can endure.
