But every night belongs to the staff, the cast, the dancers, the queens, and the leadership team that built something genuinely rare here.
Our cover story this issue walks through two decades — from the 2006 grand opening to the 2008 recession to COVID to the 2025 passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 2, which finally put the Fruit Loop on the state map as an LGBTQ+ historical landmark.
But the numbers and the legislation tell only half the story. The other half lives in the dancers who call this place a chosen home, the regulars whose first kiss happened on that dance floor, and the mothers who walked their kids in on a 21st birthday and walked back out reassured. Congratulations, Piranha. Twenty was the warm-up.
