Dulcey’s run in *Drag Royale* came to an end in Week 4 during the competition’s first double elimination, but the Las Vegas queen leaves with her head high and her feathers even higher. With a background in professional kitchens and a drag aesthetic rooted in glamor and DIY craftsmanship, Dulcey brought sincerity, creativity, and personal growth to the stage.
“This pushed me out of my normal,” she said, reflecting on the experience. “It’s been a while since I performed, but now that I’ve left my job, I’m hoping to work nights and do more drag.”
Dulcey has competed in local bar competitions before, including at The Garden and Charlie’s. She made it as far as Week 5 at The Garden before work forced her to drop out. Now free from the demanding hours of a Strip job, she’s refocusing her energy on performing.
The highlight of the competition, she said, was the Week 3 Girl Group challenge. After a quick rehearsal turnaround, she and her teammates Sophia and Giovanni pulled off a high-energy number that left her feeling confident and connected.
“It was nerve-wracking,” she admitted, “but we pulled it together in two days. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
Dulcey also earned praise for her runway looks, especially her showgirl and Queen of Hearts ensembles. The Queen of Hearts look, which she designed and sewed herself, stood out as a personal favorite.
“I spent two weeks designing it and one day sewing it,” she said. “It was all thoughtfully planned. The skirt even formed a heart on the side—totally unintentional, but I loved it.”
She added that she used to wear color-coordinated heels for the look, but they broke right before the show. “It still came together,” she said. “I was proud of myself.”
Though Dulcey is talented and experienced, she acknowledged that nerves sometimes got the better of her.
“I get in my head a lot,” she said. “I think it’s from being a chef—when you’re in the kitchen, everything has to be perfect. I bring that same pressure into drag.”
Guest judge Shannel encouraged her to let go of the self-doubt and enjoy the performance, advice Dulcey says she’s taken to heart.
Right now, Dulcey isn’t performing elsewhere, but she’s open to bookings and excited to do more. She’s stepped away from Strip kitchens and is now working in food trucks, giving her more time—and more freedom—to return to the stage.
Asked what she’d tell the next eliminated queen, Dulcey laughed and said, “You should’ve rhinestoned it.” But she followed that up with real advice: “Don’t stop. I’ve been booted from plenty of competitions. And I’m still here.”
